Press Release
Autumn is Busy Season for Local Author
Red Bank, New Jersey
September 25, 2018

Local Monmouth County author and historian Patricia Martz Heyer finds Autumn a busy time of year after the release of her last two books. Patricia has become well known for her ghostly tales and yarns book series that are steeped full of local history and a bevy of curious incidents and ghostly encounters. These ghost tales combined with details of our colorful local history are a favorite for groups looking to fill their seasonal Halloween schedules.
Patricia released her first book Ghostly Tales and Yarns of the Navesink: Where History and Folklore Collide in the Autumn of 2016. After finding a very receptive audience she released the second book in the series, Ghostly Tales of Two Rivers: Curious Encounters Along the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers in 2017. Both titles focus on historical ghost stories and folklore from the vicinity of the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers.
This year her Fall schedule started to fill early with requests for lectures and signings for the weeks leading up to Halloween.
She has appeared at a variety of local venues including civic and social organizations, senior centers, and book clubs. She has presented at the Red Bank, Little Silver, Middletown, and Monmouth County Libraries. Private organizations included The Atrium at Navesink Harbor, the Hartshorn Woods Homeowners Association, with repeat signings at Barnes and Noble.
Upcoming events include special speaking engagements for local senior groups, readings, and a presentation and signing at the Paranormal Museum and Bookstore in Asbury Park.
Patricia is currently working on her upcoming book on the history of shark attacks in the New York / New Jersey Bight. This collection of documented shark incidents includes more than fifty attacks from the waters of New Jersey, and over thirty from New York.
